Join the SWANA New Jersey Chapter!
The SWANA national membership base includes more than 10,000 members. Among them are solid waste managers, regulators, engineers, consultants, operators, private haulers, and recyclers. New Jersey operations include management of solid, hazardous, universal, and infectious waste; incinerators, landfills, transfer stations and recycling facilities.
Current issues in the New Jersey Chapter include bioreactor landfills, international hauling, landfill gas management, maximizing disposal space, post-closure use, and gas to energy projects.
We host technical conferences every year that feature speakers from across the country to discuss timely and upcoming issues.

Members have access to Applied Research Foundation Documents published for the Disposal Work Group. Members can also access other work group’s publications one year after the publish date.
Safety Resources supply members with helpful tips and information. Members can sign up for “Safety Monday” emails and have access to safety campaigns including “Slow Down to Get Around.”
SWANA Advocacy provides members with updates on legislation and rules at the local and national level.
SWANA Career Center connects employers with candidates. Career Center is your top resource to search for or post open positions in the solid waste industry.
Training
Take advantage of world class solid waste education. Webinar sessions and onsite classes help members learn about Solid Waste topics from instructors with national and international perspectives.
Networking
MySWANA, a members-only private social network, connects members through industry specific criteria.
The Landfill Alliance work group, made up of New Jersey landfill managers and operators, gets together to discuss hot topics within the industry.

Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarship opportunities on the local and national level are available to SWANA NJ Chapter members and their families. Scholarships are catered to high school seniors, undergraduates and graduates.
Young Professionals (YPs)

The SWANA NJ Annual Conference gives attendees the opportunity to meet with industry peers, learn important updates in issues affecting the solid waste industry and spur ideas for the future.
SWANA NJ Annual Meetings bring members together for networking.
The Annual SWANA Golf Tournament brings members together and proceeds go to the SWANA NJ Scholarship fund.
The SWANA Mid Atlantic Regional Road-E-O is a friendly competition that lets staff show off their skills as a truck driver or heavy equipment operator.
