The Pollution Control Financing Authority of Camden County (PCFACC) of the Pennsauken Landfill was awarded the 2018 Sustainability Award for their Renewable Energy Park, which features a solar farm over closed landfill space. The project serves as an example for other closed landfills in New Jersey searching for positive alternative uses.
