EREF Hosting Free Science Sessions on PFAS

Uncategorized

The Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF) is hosting a free Science Session titled PFAS for Resource Management: Navigating the Intersection of Science and Legislation. The webinar will be hosted Wednesday, August 23, 2023, 1 to 2 p.m.

The webinar will explore the rapidly changing landscape of Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) scientific advancements and its intersection with policies in resource management. An esteemed panel of experts will shed light on federal and state-level PFAS legislative activities, future policy directions, and the science underpinning these policies. This timely discussion will also identify existing scientific gaps that need to be addressed to better inform operational and policy decisions related to PFAS management.

The panel includes Dr. Bryan Staley of the EREF, Sean McGinnis from COEFFICIENT, Anne Germain of the National Waste & Recycling Association, and Dr. Arie Kremen from Tetra Tech, who is an expert in landfill management. Together, they’ll illuminate the current PFAS legislative landscape, future policy direction, the science that supports these policies, and the scientific gaps that need to be addressed.
